Yep i'd get the hang on back overflow box and do a small sump. It will cut down on algae in her display.
Get a koralia or two for water flow.
Don't bother with any filters (waste of money).
Get a cheap skimmer and mod the heck out of it (Seaclone150).
Build a homemade canopy and put retrofit PC lighting in it.
Get 50 pounds of liverock and your substrate
"POOF" there you have a fairly cheap but efficent system for a beginner.
