no need to run the skimmer on a timer , but trust me from experience and if you search here , from others experience , ditch that skimmer its not doing much probably there are better skimmers out...

do yourself a favor and ditch that skimmer it was one of the worst things i have bought in this hobby for the price of it, my $50 skimmer skims better than my old remora pro. they are very over rated...

a maxi1200 on a remora pro is not enough its going to take forever for you to get some skimate, i think the remora's are way too expensive for what they do. they are not that great.

a maxi1200 on a remora pro is not enough its going to take forever for you to get some skimate, i think the remora's are way too expensive for what they do. they are not that great.

I'm pretty sure putting these kits on a timer is going to put a toll on them, i really dont know how the wave timer works but if you have to restart the pump often, then i dont think the chattering...
