the glass is plenty thick, I will try that center brace with acrylic. It sucks because the tank is drilled, plumbed, fixed with a DIY overflow, the works. No livestock so it wouldn't be much more...

i second the krylon fusion, plus you can paint...

i second the krylon fusion, plus you can paint pvc and stick it right in the tank. It is reef safe. I paint my overflows with it and have never had any problems.
