if it were me i would do a bigger sump, maybe a 75 just because you are putting alot in a 40 breeder. imo. you can get 75 gal tanks cheap and it would give you much more room, or do two tanks one...

i would agree with everyone that if you try any clam try a derasa. be careful with the derasa's and squami's they will with out a doubt out grow your 46 bowfront. just my opinion.
