If it is a small piece, you can lay a piece of rubble next to it and allow it to attach. That usually works well, and you get to keep the xenia. It doesnt take very long, either.

For the GSP's, I would wedge the strand in between two pieces of rubble and let them attach to both. It spreads quickly.

For the mushroom, I would use a rubber band as mentioned. Dont wind it...

Its not really the water that is "cycled," its the rock and substrate. If you have rock thats established it will cut down on the cycle time.

Mine has gone out of control. Anything that gets next to it will be "assimilated." I just place rubble, empty snail shells, etc next to it and let nature take its course. Easy as pie.
