It might be a good idea to turn the skimmer off...

It might be a good idea to turn the skimmer off while the paint dries. Also a fan blowing out an open window might help.

Mary if you have enough live rock in your tank...

Mary if you have enough live rock in your tank you should remove the bio balls from your wet dry filter this will help lower nitrates.

why dont you just wash your rocks in bleach. then it would be very very clean and you wouldnt get any of those pesky weird creatures in your tank.

I agree with Rod. Why would you wash the rock with fresh water? Are you trying to kill everything on it?
