That is not an accurate article. The fry can live off of the yolk sac for approx. 10-12 days from the time the egg was spawned, depending on the type of clownfish and the nutrition of the brood pair....

There is no doubt that one of my pairs is a True perc(female) and Ocellaris(male). They not only paired but have been spawning over a year and 1/2. So chances are good yours could pair up.
