If you do just apply Weldon 16, dont put heaps...
If you do just apply Weldon 16, dont put heaps on. Apply 3 or 4 coats to the area allowing 3 or 4 hours between applications so you don't get a bubble forming.

Mind blowing colony. One in ten thousand. You should frag a branch or two and put them down low to see if it is a purely high light colony - you might be surprised at the results.

Have to agree, 10K halides with actinic gives great results on all fronts. Better growth and nice colours. At the end of the day however it is personal preference as to what look you want.

Tepmered glass will scratch more easily with a razor blade whilst float glass is very hard to mark doing the same thing. Used to notice this whilst working in a large glass factory a few years back....

Running Weldon 4 along all the cracks should allow the glue to wick into most cracks. I would then run a fine bead of Weldon 16 along each crack line to be safe. Won't look pretty but...

So long as you aren't skimming the water after it leaves the fuge I think the rest of the design looks good. Nice 3D - makes things a lot easier to follow.

Have to agree, if you go with the Eheim for the return get the 1262. You may not think you are going to stock heavily now so the skimmer may be fine but better to go for a bigger model now to save...

The area needs cleaning thoroughly prior to applying the solvent. If you want to try without doing so I guess as long as your prepared to redo the job it wont hurt to give it a shot.

As menard suggested, once you get the alk levels...
As menard suggested, once you get the alk levels down whilst maintaining the calcium I would be dialing the CO2 down a bit .
