I can try moving them around, but each colony is in a different part of the tank already.

I doubt its lighting, the tank is set up for SPS. Its 36x24x20 and has a 6x39 watt tek fixture over it....

I've always been told to build rocks up like a pyramid. Put 3 rocks down in a triangle as a base and then place one rock in the middle. Thats for maximum sturdiness.

IMO the photosynthetic gorgs are much more enjoyable anyway. They sway with the current whereas most of the non-photosynthetic gorgs are very rigid.
