thickness of acrylic

I am looking into a 120"L x 30"W x 30"T tank for my basement. I know 3/4" is normally ok for 30" deep tanks, but with a 120" long tank do I need to make it 1" acrylic? It will have a 5"-6"...

The center brace is a p.i.t.a. to keep salt free if you have a high flow system. Look for the brick style tanks if they still make them. I just painted my back black to match the overflow.

Terrific idea and execution! My only suggestion is to do it with black acrylic, so the heater is not seen. Love those zoo's. Did you buy them online or locally?

What size mag drive pump should be used on a E.T.S.S. reef devil skimmer. I was going to use a 9.5 but didn't know if i should bump that to a 12.

You might look at starting a refugium with that algae. It is great for nutrient export, but sucks to prune if it takes off. Other than that the tank looks pretty good.

There is a very good chance the center brace will crack due to the heat of the light. I have seen this several times on tanks with acrylic that is .5" and thinner.

I would like to see some pics of the 70w MH...

I would like to see some pics of the 70w MH model. Is the hood taller for heat issues? If you really like the shimmer that MH produce than go for it, but for $150 more your getting 6w difference.
