I found out that the last 3 shipments had delivery problems for all of the reasons listed above.
They plan to get a shipment in tomorrow morning, but today's snowstorm had the 2 airports jammed...

I have found that color is most responsive to good Ph and Alk readings. I have also found that Unstable Temperature can also mess with color.

This may be tough with Sand. If I ever change substrates I am going back to Crushed Coral. The sandstorm get really annoying over time. I am using southdown sand. Not sure the grain size....

Fill the collection cup with boiling water first. It will soften up the plastic and allow you to tap a hole without it shattering. Drill the cup while the water is still in it.

I suppose you could always pull the rock out and drill them out. Use a small drill bit and grind away at the rock where the base is attached.
