IMO, the eel won't be comfortable or thrive in a tank that size. Eels are great fish but need a proper environment to do well, like any other fish.

Simple flourescent strip lights will work fine. If you want to ramp it up a notch you can go with VHO or pc. I use 4 x 65 w pc's on my 120 and it's nice. Really shows off the fish.

They can be nippy. I had one for a while and it took chunks out of the dorsal fin of my juvi majestic angel. Got rid of it. Interesting little fish but not sure I'd keep one with a lion of any type.
