great to hear the good news. and back to one of your questions - IME they do love strong light which enhances their green color and growth. but it takes time for them to acclimate to brighter light...

fresh water dip for LPS - don't think it's a good idea. sofe corals maybe. hope it just harmed the outer skin of your trumpet and after "shedding" the demage, it'll be ok. good luck
