I keep a 38 gallon mixed reef with a large sinularia (~ 12" tall) and my sps appear to be in good health. I don't run carbon and perform weekly 10% waterchanges.

I 2nd liveaquaria.com. What I like about their coral photos in the "diver's den" and "wysiwyg" is that they have both closeups and full shots that are taken in what seems to be rather neutral...

No need to feed it daily, epecially if you're feeding full sized fish. I used to feed mine mysis once a week and it grew rapidly.

If the anemone is full, it simply won't accept the food. It...

How about nassarius snails? They spend most of their time fully submerged in the sand and then erupt when it's feeding time. They need to be fed meaty foods though. Cerith snails are good sand...

How DARE you contradict me!:D

I have a A LOT of vermetids in my tank and I really don't mind them. They seem to catch a lot of junk that would otherwise sit on sandbed.

Oh, and colt corals can take a good amount of turbulent flow. They're "slimey" corals that benefit from strong current to help them shed that mucuous layer and "breathe." Part of my sinularia gets...

Seems straightforward enough to me. He has them already - he even has a head count on the lps corals, refers to some them as frags, and clearly indicates the flow they are receiving. And, you can't...

I know how you feel. Before we downgraded from a 75 gallon to a 38, my wife hated the tank. And justifiably so: poorly planned setup that had wires and ballasts everywhere. Even the calc. reactor...

Those are probably suspension feeding worms or "spaghetti" worms. Harmless and beneficial scavengers. They pose no threat to anything in your tank.

I try to keep my lps in medium to low flow. My frogspawn looks best in flow that's just strong enough to cause the tentacles to sway slowly. Any more than that and it retracts. In nature they live...

You'll find dead snails on the sandbed and when you sniff the shell you'll want to gag.

When you added the snails to your aquarium, did you slowly acclimate them? If you didn't, that could...

I really don't know. I don't think it was a spectrum issue; I was running 10k bulbs so the growth should have been on the faster side. I also don't suspect light saturation since halides only have...

I don't think you have anything to worry about, especially with two actinic bulbs in the mix. I have an Aquactinics TX5 over my 38 gallon with five high par bulbs - 1 aquasun, 1 blue plus, and 3...

Thanks. The bakpak seems to work effectively. When run wet it produces quite a bit of dark skimmate. The bubble trap works well enough - keeps a majority of the microbubbles out unless the skimmer...
