You dont really want to skim refugium water, it takes and removes most of the good stuff it provides. If you can, try skimming before. Also, if your going to do a DSB, make it a DSB! (8''+)

It's a cup coral. From the pic it looks dead or dieing, although it may recover. A common hitchhiker coral on live rock.

Never try to force anything into an H. Mags mouth, especially a syringe. Liquid foods really won't do anything for this anemone, they need whole meaty foods.
I've had my mag for close to 2.5 years...

I agree, but ocellaris can have thick black lines also, they just dont fill in between their stripes. Percs eyes tend to be orange with the visible iris/pupil. Ocellaris tend to have a muddy colored...

I would not use 1/8'' it would be very flimsy. 1/4'' would work great. There are a bunch of silicones you can use. GE I or GE II window and door WITHOUT mild inhibitors seem to be the most popular....

Any stain of your choice will work fine, just be sure to put a few coats of poly or clear coat over top. Thats what prevents the water from contacting the wood.
