check out the mod on the DIY forum...it might be archived... as is, it fails too easy...better off with an OM squirt... but it can do the job ok for a little while.

I think the dip just allows you to add the solution a lot slower and finer, but overall it will not affect your results if you fill the syringe full of the solution, no air bottles, all the way to 1...

Got these ball valves but cannot use them. They are supposed to be single entry valves, which I thought meant they can be easily disconnected, but these require a little more effort to disconnect...
