When most folks in the business can't keep snowflake, picasso, or even percula/ocellaris straight, be wary of clown "deals". Very wary.

The anemone on the right is a Condylactis species.

You'll find lots of things written out there about anemones. As a rule, they are tough to maintain in captivity.

IME, yes they don't seem to build up much of a tolerance for amyloo or brook.

Who isn't? :)

Many of the "uniques" are not rare or uncommon, but disease prone. I would recommend selecting your...

They are such horrible shippers and "first two week" captive specimens, I would not even consider buying 1 from anyone or organization that could not prove they were captive for 2+ weeks.

They are...

Nope, E. quad(BTA).

BTAs have a fairly mild sting and clams seem to be quite tolerant of them in my tanks as well.

Side note, many anemone species adjust to captivity in different ways making them a bit...

Quite the typical progression in captivity. Mine only bubble up when I change bulbs, and then it is a temporary affair.

Anemones prefer a stable pH.

IME they can tolerate a pH in the 7.9 range, but it would be an error to assume they prefer an unnatural range. I would move the nano back up to 8.2+ if you can keep...

It has characteristics of majano, if you want to be sure, remove the rock it is on and grow it out in isolation.

Good luck.

Re: Bubble Tip Anemone Placement

The only way a BTA is the size of a quarter is if it was starved to absorption or divided by unnatural means.

Most "BTAs" that size are actually Majano Anemones.

More then likely you have an Atlantic Anemone, likely Condylactis species. It is rare for a Maroon or a Clark's clown to reject a BTA.

Post a picture to see about an anemone ID.

It really depends on the species, some are quite tolerant of short term temperature drops. Condylactis, S. Helianthus, and E. quads(BTA) to say the least.
