I though the 1200 was more flow than I wanted. FWIW I have used both the the RIO and maxi-jet on my backpak and have been happy with both. I think the bigger rio's have more issues than the smaller

FWIW...I have used the powerhead thing on more than one with no problem at all. It can take a while but it has never harmed any of the animals I have used it on

I have had mine up high and down low in the tank....
I have had mine up high and down low in the tank. It really did not seems to make much of a diff. I did not see any color loss in eigther spot and it spent months in both, I do not have as much light...
