no problem...glad i could help. i have one that i had help identifying. differnt type...bright orange that that grows in a branching form. very cool. i also have the little discs like you have.

I increased voltage to 30...still not strong enough. not a large enough coil in the solenoid i think. ordered a different, larger solenoid on friday, so i hope that works.

Question about voltage

I am building (almost done actually) the hi-tech version of the Borneman surge (using a solenoid and float switches instead of a float) but right now the solenoid is not powerful enough. it's running...

I'm gonna do it too...

Seeing how lots of others do it, i'm gonna post pics of my first clam! It's a crocea, about 2.5" across. He went in the tank Friday, and today at lunch i moved him to a rock about 3/4 of the way up...

PFO also has reflectors they recommend mounting perpendicular...the pendants without supplemental lighting, which i have. however, i mounted them parallel and it looks ok to me. so i would say try it...
