Are you talking about it's tenacles extending after lights out? I don't feed mine directly because they do not eat, but they are growing nicely. If it is growing and seems happy, I wouldn't worry...

It may be a good idea to rinse the coral off in a different container of tank water after you remove the bubble algae to try to remove any "juice" from the bubbles before returning it to the tank.

I direct feed a couple times a week. I have all different kinds of LPS. Most seem to love it, but the hammer, torch, and frogspawn aren't big fans of direct feeding and do great in the tank anyway....
