I would definately NOT lower a sps tank to 1.018. It sounds like it worked for Island, but I know of MANY people who have lost sps down in that range.

It sure sounds like it's helping to keep the water cleaner somehow in addition to direct health benefits.

Sound like you've checked it out. I'e not seen one live, but the PAR seems a little low for Clams and some sps.

Personally I'd go T-5's hands down. Sunlight Supply has some pretty good looking...

I do have a friend that tried the Vodka method and that DID kill off most of his zoanthids with super clean water...we suspect. His sps loved it...
