LR just refers to living bacteria on your rock, it doesn't have anything to do with the amount of coralline algae

purple is most common, but if you're lucky you might get some other colors too :)

yea, sounds like some of your chaeto is dying off...turning white and brittle is a classic sign

unlike calupera, chaeto doesn't go asexual (one of the advantages of it)
