If they are comming from the same tank already, that means they will probably be already all infested to the same problems. So if there is anything you have to treat, you will have to treat them all...

Looks good. Be sure and keep your air pump above the water level even when its on. Power failure could result in the a wet air pump and water and electric don't mix well once the power is turned...

In my experience drilling the buckets they crack easy. But maybe its my lack of drilling skills. I think its a good idea, and will work if you are more patient than myself.

Blue gives more of an "open water" type look, especially if you have a light behind the tank illuminating the blue wall. Looks bad if you dont keep it clean. With that said, I have black.
