I perform a 10-15% WC once a week and use that as my top off. I am fortunate in that I have little evap during the week.

Mine does this also. I have a few babies from my frags (the amount of frags has tripled in ~2-3 months) and some shrivel more than others but after a day or two they recoop and open up.

I used lemon juice (easy to get from the fridge) it seemed to successfully kill 4-5 and only was only unsuccessfully once. That was my experience with it at least.

Jab beat me to the punch, but a small fish or two shouldn't be an issue. Since you're not interested in many fish you could get a damsel, they can't be killed!
