I'd avoid them, they suck too many gph out of the pump to make them worthwhile. A sea swirl would be better (unless you have a pressure rated pump already)

My local fish store drained the tank and filled it with fresh DI water, then let it sit for a minute or two, then redrained and refilled with saltwater. Worked wonders =)
