Yup mine over fills too, but when its running well it skims well. I have to take my off the tank and poke wire through the air holes, one on the water out spout and one on water in. Usually works...

Yup, mine is about 5 inchs and I have seen him pick up chunks of rocks the size of quarters. He will swim around with it for about 15 seconds or so and then drop it but then gets obsessed about it...

I agree about putting her into the larger of the two tanks. I have my in a 90G and she swims the entire tank. I would hate to put her in anything smaller.
