Oh yeah they can crack. I have had 3 single ended bulbs crack from water splashing on them , 2- 175's and a 250. Obviously double ended wouldnt but single ended can be easily crack just like...

Thats a lot of light over a shallow tank and even though pc's, you should be able to keep most anything and some have even kept sps under pc's when keeping them up high especially with 6 bulbs.

Some idea's would be more water flow,cut back on feeding, cut back lighting cycle , More water changes and or skimmer if you do not have one ? None the less tank looks great.

I agree and also was impatient a couple years ago...

I agree and also was impatient a couple years ago and started a system with tap and once I hooked up intense lighting I had an algae farm. It will also vary depending on water source/location,etc....

All ricordea have to be chipped from larger rocks, so they will be attached to small bits of rocks or rubble,etc. We do sometimes mount to plugs,but a lot of people do not like plugs and they do well...
