Tridacna maxima are a little challenging but with good water quilty, PROPER acclimation and tank mates they will do fine.

No doubt there are other Tridacnids easier to keep. IMO & IME

Requires less light and most that come in are cultured (farmed raised) and more tolerable to some disease that clams get.

Maxima in general are the hardest to keep of the Tridacnids. The teardrops are very senitive and I believe a lot of it is due to poor collection.
