I plan to run VHO on my next tank and dont want to burn up a new set of bulbs while my rock is cycling and such. Anyone have a set of bulbs that they are planning to throw away anyways?

Anyone have and graphs/data showing the reduction of phos caused by dosing nitrogen to increase macro growth? I have heard good things about this technique but havent seen any data on it.

Added volume is a bonus, not a downside.

You should try a fuge. They are soooo easy. rDSB takes zero upkeep and cheato takes almost none, weekly trimmings, up to a month is ok. Much easier than high flow and keeping the bare bottom clean.

I have heard that much more than 6h is wasted. I have even seen setups on RC that run two tanks each with seperate 6h photoperiods.

Go with the 15g and put in dividers. The dividers dont need to be $$$ cast acrylic, they wont have much pressure on them. Small AGA tanks are sooo cheap. Spend the money in better places, display etc.
