well first off your gona grow algae no matter what i would suggest turning your lights off more about 6-8 hours a day is plenty and your protein skimmer and refugium are competing with each other...

sounds like a bristle worm you might want to take it out with twessers or somthing those bristles hurt when they get stuck in ya and it will eat fish and also some corals
