Posting some samples and knowing what you were expecting would help. FYI, the 70-300 isn't a true macro lens meaning it isn't capable of 1:1 magnification. I don't know if that is what you were...

The EF-S mount sticks a little farther into the body of the camera so the lens won't physically fit on the 5/1D series body. Nothing really "happens", it just won't fit. And I hear good things about...

I've had both the 17-55 F/2.8 IS and the 24-105 F/4L with my 30D and I like the 17-55 best, by far. Here is why I choose my 17-55 over everything else. The 17-55 is much sharper and faster than the...

Don't spend the hefty price for a Canon one, pick up one from ebay for super cheap. I've used two of them (one for my old XT and my 30D) and they both worked great. Hong Kong is your friend :)

I believe the IR sensor is on the front of the camera and can only be used if you are in front of the camera. I'm not sure if you wanted to use this for your tank or not but I thought I would...

My Manfrotto 3001Pro (legs) and 488RC2 (ball head) have taken everything I can throw at it (30D plus goodies). It's a little smaller than 3021 which I originally wanted but I found it was too large...

Ah, good memories of Maui :) It would be nice to sell it to them for big bucks but I rented it from a private owner and seriously doubt he would pay for it. Maybe a trade for a few nights? lol....

Another thing that I didn't mention was that I didn't like the focal length of the 24-105/70 lenses. I find the 17-55 much more useful on a crop body since the 24mm seem to be too wide. About the...

I have the 17-55 F/2.8 IS and absolutely love it. I previously had the 24-105 F/4L and was never impressed with the quality as the pictures weren't that sharp if I shot wide open. I really don't...

I'm a little confused as to what you are trying to accomplish with HDR. I personally think you can do everything you need to with a single (assuming proper) exposure. I've only really found HDR...

Greg, have you ever tried the 18-55 with the Kenko tubes? I know my 60mm F/2.8 won't work and it has the EF-S mount. I imagine any lens that has the EF-S mounts won't work.

Another trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific

I was in Long Beach CA this week for work and of course slipped away to the aquarium for some new shots. I was there earlier this year but didn't have a very good lens to use (I didn't like my 24-105...

Do you know if the one you bought was captive bred or wild caught? My captive bred ones have a great track record for survival, I personally wouldn't try it with a wild caught one since survival...

The IDs MKIII will do 1/8000, which is the same as any of the prosumer bodies (20/30/40D). The XT/XTi will do 1/4000. Either of those speeds are excessively fast for aquarium work (and not really...

My only complaint is the mounting, double-stick tape pretty much sucks. I'm pretty happy that's the worst of it though.
