I don't have an Aussie but my Indo was around...
I don't have an Aussie but my Indo was around 6-7" when I got him roughly 10 months ago. Great fish but very timid ,I've got an older pic I can post up later.

My regime as follows...... 20% weekly water...

20% weekly water changes,
clean glass daily with mag,
allow no dead zones as far as current goes,
blow LR with a turkey baster daily,
