thanks guys, this is what I thought as well. The nassarius snails do all right, the eat detritus, but they don't seem to be thriving.

If you are willing to pay a little extra, the deltec mce600 and the tunze line of nanoskimmers would do well. If you don't want to spend that much, the odyssea ps65 usually goes for 30 bucks on ebay...
