second year in a row I've spent New Year's at the vet school :D . Life could be worse. The screaming Bichon has finally quited down and my ICU shift ends at 8 am.

Dropsy typically affects fish in a weakened condition. I would think that it would not be easily transfered to an established tank with fish with a good immune system.

I would disinfect items with 70% isopropyl alcohol and let it evaporate. The problem with a quick dip is that it is contact time that is important for a good kill (like 5 min which isn't practical)....
