good point hanmeister, I typically use two wraps, but for my ehiem pump I used 5, and it was barely snug. I wouldn't use that many though on english to english threads, just two, maybe three.

mine was kinda loud too, It came with my euro-reef, but was really resonating inside my sump, causing the sound to be amplified, so I replaced it with an eheim.

I've had the RK2, but it had quality problems and I couldn't get the PH probe to calibrate.
I returned it and got the ACJr, which is not as user friendly to program, but didn't have any issues.
