see if you can borrow a dremel with a side...
see if you can borrow a dremel with a side cutting bit (you may have to buy that part) then draw the hole size you need around your 1-1/4 holes then use the dremel with side cutting bit and work the...

i think i would redo the fittings where they are dripping i have a feeling you will be putting silicone on those spots all the time.(it would only be a quick fix) it's better to do it right the first...
