I always thought dripping a CR near the skimmer to remove CO2 and dripping kalk near the return.
I clean all my pumps once every three months.

If you have a fug, your new rock is well cured and your bio load is not too large, I seen no problem. I just have just SPS with fish and have done it before.

I agree Isir, this is the simlpest maxijet mod to use I have seen. You need the to get the mounting magnet too. If is easy to direct the flow and the position can be changed.

From time to time you still have to make adjustments when using a CR. Difference in salts, organics in the tank, etc can create an imbalance.
