If this is an "AFTER" Pic of the TB crab damage , I would wait it out. From that pic, it would appear that the coral may recover.

If the dead area is bleached out then I would commence fragging....

Cut off a finger (The Corals) and rubberband it to some substrate. You may also sew it to substrate with fishing line. Put frag and colony in area of good flow.

Break or saw off the heads ,(taking as much stem as possible). Then glue stems into holes of live rock or use epoxy putty (two part) to adhear the stems to whatever substrate you choose.

No it does not require prunning to thrive. You only need to prune if it is touching another coral and killing it. I frag mine to share/sell.
