SWSaltwater, I have had similar experiences with the whole flagtail pipefish group. They seem to take frozen food within a few days at most. I haven't had experiences with blue stripes, but banded,...

Yes, it does sounds like Gas Bubble Disease. If it's not affecting the horses ability to eat or move, I would leave it until your friend gets back, and just monitor closely. The cause is unknown but...

Because of the large amount of algae, I'd test your ph, nitrate and phopspate. Excessive nitrate can depress ph, and that can lead to all sorts of problems. Aside from that, I don't think the...

I haven't had this with seahorses, but have with other fish. Chances are he will be fine. They are so light that even a fall from a significant distance doesn't have much chance of doing any harm....

I just saw on ORA's site they're now working with Hippocampus comes. Anyone know how easy they are to get ahold of (or difficult)? They've always been my favorite species, but I tried keeping WC...

It kind of depends on the pipefish, and what all you have in a reef. I would think an fowlr wouldn't be very good because you're not going to have the microfauna. But then again, I've never tried it....

Fenbendazole, aka panacur. It will kill off some other inverts. For instance, worms do not tolerate it. Some snails are okay with it, some aren't. My point being take out any valuable inverts, and...

Seahorse fry have a yoke sack that lasts about 24 hours. If did want to try to raise them and have brine shrimp eggs, you could start them now and have food for them tomorrow.

I don't believe that is correct. That is 8 gallons per pair, but starting with a minimum of x-gallons. For example, you wouldn't keep 2 adult pair in 8 gallons of water, but with that rule, you'd be...
