wetdry and silica sand??

dos anyone use silica sand for there FOWLR tanks? is it ok to use with a wrasse? i dont realy mind if it causes algea growth is that the only real concern sence its a FOWLR?
and i know wetdrys on...

i have some more questions:) , i whent down and got some portland type I&II, silica sand and solar salt from a home depot in the states, but iam haveing a hard time with the calcium...

i think iam just going to use sand blasting sand for mixing and molding, aragonite is pretty expensive here and sence my tap water is hard and my tank will be a FOWMMLR i dont think...
