Besides being battery operated, how do the digital Pinpoint salinity meters compare? Anyone? I would guess them to be quite accurate so long as they are calibrated regularly.

They are a filter used to reduce the phosphates in your tank. Some people use multiple filters, and run carbon etc in them. If you are struggling with algae (hair algae in particular) these can help....
