It is possible - I lost 2 large tangs several years ago to a green carpet. I currently have a blue carpet in my reef which is doing well and there are several fish in the tank -so far no problems...

Had one in my reef - traded him out for a pair of blue jaw triggers - he never bothered the corals, but he would pick off the snails and was a bully to the other fish

i have a pair in my tank - no problem with lps, sps or clams. You can keep just one but I have found that the presence of the female results in less hiding initially.

I have had an octopus before and they need plenty of hiding places - so I do not think it is a go at all. A cave will not be enough you will need much more rocks. AND a tight lid

depending on the size - the bimac may make a meal...
depending on the size - the bimac may make a meal of the shark or more likely the shark would go after the octopus. Also, the bimacs need more cover and the shark and ray will need more open space.
