they are a black hole. If you value your fish I would stay away from carpets. Just my experience with them. Mine even ate my male allardi clownfish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

you could extend the neck by about a foot or two...

you could extend the neck by about a foot or two to keep the skimmer from overflowing. Should pull some nasty stuff.

SITC has some nice sumps for very reasonable...

SITC has some nice sumps for very reasonable prices. If you get a free day to drive over there, I think it would be worth it.

Overall, bad idea. The only way it will work is if you feed enough to the point where they wont have to fight for food. When food is scarce, thats when they become very aggressive towards each other.

If you have a sandbed the dig around his foot and work slowly trying to peel it up. If it is not giving, rub ice on the food and then peel, works everytime.
