I have had a 55 full with no brace on it. OF course this was NOT on purpose and in 5 days it was fixed.

Id say go for it, if you see some bending i would rethink it.

I should point out that this is NOT whats holding the plumbing together. This is just for the threaded joins (bulkheads and Unions.)

The virbration is noticeable between PVC and Flex. Personally i went flex and then braced most of the tubing so it didnt bend on its own. This also includes my favorite friend "duct tape" on the back...
