i too am interested in this project. i use VFD's aka Inverters every day, and in the industrial setting you usually one find them in one form 3 phase, you can run them with single phase outputs...

actually the relays are built for continuous duty...

actually the relays are built for continuous duty cycle.. that are not intended for on/off continuous pulsing cycles... i use them every day in my line of work... it's the pulsing that destroys them...

i had a Lifereef HOB, i never once had a problem out of it, not once did it break suction (at least not without my help) the entire time it was on my tank.

technically you shouldn't throw away any fluorescent bulb. there are qualified recycling centers that will accept and recycle the Mercury that is in the tube. if any questions about how to dispose of...

personally it depends on how much you want to spend... if on a budget.. can't beat the Octopus skimmers.. i have the NW200 and love it on my 75

i would suggest an Eheim 1260 for your return pump. i don't think you can find a quieter or more reliable pump out there..

as the title says, what is the best water level (sump level) for the NW200? The skimmers sure are cheap, but in relation to support, you get what you pay for in terms of setup instructions

I agree, i have never had problems with my CBS, it just hangs out under one of the rocks waiting for me to feed it every few days... and its in a tank that has a Clown that is about 1/4 the size of...
