I would go with the one big one. Lots of tangs like at least 6 feet in length to swim. I think the big fish always look cool in a nice big reef.

I'm not a big fan of the auto feeders in general and only use them when i'm away but I too think that the ehiem is pretty good.

Its not all about the total volume but has a lot to do with the length of the tank. As said above a 6 foot tank is really what they need. I have one in a 180 and he does swim coast to coast.

It sounds pretty good although you might not want to transfer all the sand over. Transfering the whole sandbed might make it realease any decaying matter into the water. You might be better off...

I think everyone here is correct. You are going a bit too fast and trying to do too much at once. When I first got into this hobby with a fw tank I too added too many fish and did too much at once...

Thanks. That's what I've heard before and been under the assumption is true. I just get freaked out every so often that I'm going to come home to a large puddle instead of my tank. Thanks!

It is very porous, You can get very large peices, marc will pick out rocks for you specifically and it is a lot cheaper than live rock. Once it get seeded it is great looking rock.

Keep an eye on her and as long as she does look healthy and is eating and does not have ick its probably all good. Sounds like you lfs is pretty good and doesn't want to sell you an unhealthy fish.
