I would buy in bulk,you get much more for your money verses using pre bottled mixtures.Be careful when adding alk. and calcium, go slow,if it precipitates it can really mess up a power head, I ruined...

I think I will try to rinse out any pods in my filter socks when changing every 2-3 days.The tank seems to stay much cleaner and clear with the use of the socks vs. without.

If your not using a sump with baffles then you may get micro bubbles, filter socks can also help eliminate micro bubbles.
