lol i would stick with metal halide since theres no limit on wat type of coral u can have with it. $75 for a PC bulb??? metal halide looks better and no metal halides is more efficient cuz the lumens...

VHO 30w on a stock 24" hood

i have a old 24" hood stocked. it uses a 18" T8 bulb. i was wondering if i can switch it with a VHO 18" 30w bulb? or will that just kill the ballast?
