I forgot to mention:

Just as a reference, the base of this rock covers roughly a 20" x 18" footprint. It's going in a 24" x 20" x 18" H tank, eventually (I still need to make the tank).

The two...

AFAIK...:

Kuring: cement leeching out salt and pH. Hardening might be part of this.

Curing: rock growing bacteria for aquarium use.

24" long will give you better lighting options. 20" wide will give you a good footprint for gas exchange at the surface. 18" high will be easier to maintain. These dimensions will give you a 37...

Kent, those rocks look awesome. That's probably $500+ worth of LR for less than $20 right there. :D

Has anyone tried using aquarium liquid pH adjusters while kuring their aragocrete? I think some have phosphates, but not all of them. It sounds like this could work to me, but I'm sure there's...

Majano/Aipstasia in a FOWLR

Will majano anemones hurt fish or inverts?

I've got a nano FOWLR with a three-stripe damsel and a mantis shrimp. Instead of corals I went with aipstasia, and I haven't had any problems so far. It...

Yep, they make clicking sounds all right, at least if they're smashers (I dunno if spearers click).

It's probably making a new home in the LR. They pound the rock to build their burrows. They also...

Re: Mantis shrimp questions

Yes. They can be kept with corals.

No. They don't need to be fed only live food. Mine takes frozen krill. Lots of people seem to feed theirs mysis. They lose their smashers if they don't get used,...

That 7 G tank is really narrow. I'd be worried that the mantis (or anything else put in there) would be cramped. Also, tall narrow tanks have less surface area for oxygen exchange. I've read that...
