Has anyone ever tried to use their overflows for/as a refugium with microalgae?.. I am using durso standpipes so I don't see why this would not work. Any ideas, suggestions?

I dissagree totally with the above statement. I run a mag 18 and a mag 24 on my 150 reef. They are both used external with absolutely no leaks at all.
